Our Story

WELCOME TO DREAM BRIDGE GAMES!

We’re a small indie studio crafting immersive, family-friendly board games with original art, inventive mechanics, and a deep love of play.  We’re located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee – a town known for big ideas and bold experiments.

Dream Bridge Games is the realization of a lifelong dream for Kevin. He and Megumi, high school sweethearts, were engaged on the very bridge featured in our logo.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

After 20 years in the military, while a stay-at-home dad, Kevin finally began to explore his passion for history and games.  He and Megumi crafted the earliest prototypes from wood, paper, sticks, and cardboard on weekends and in the evenings.

As things got real, they realized they needed more help and turned to childhood friend and fellow board game lover Amy O’Rourke.  Amy happily came aboard as a founding member. Little did she know what she was getting into!

OFF AND RUNNING

Friend and art teacher Laura Parkison brought our first game to life with her hand drawn watercolors.

GENCON 2024 was our first time showcasing in the playtest hall, and it was a fantastic experience! The energy, the community, and the welcoming spirit confirmed we were on the right path. Dream Bridge Games was on its way!

BUILDING OUR DREAM TEAM

Back home in our small town, we got to work refining our game, setting up the business, and building our team. Meghan Campbell, Amy’s daughter, became our very first employee. David Schultz, a longtime friend with a sharp eye for detail, stepped in to support our legal and financial needs.

Kevin and Megumi’s daughter, Elena, joined as a founding member, using her 3D modeling skills to shape components for their first game. Her knack for parliamentary procedure keeps our meetings delightfully on track.

WHY WE PLAY

We grew up surrounded by friends and family gathered around the table playing card games, word games, board games, role-playing games, and more.  Over the years, we’ve all come to realize that it’s the people around us, our friends, families, and fellow creators, who bring us joy, strength, and encouragement.

Our hope is to share that community with you.  We invite you to follow along, join the conversation, and share in the fun as we bring our games to life.
